US Entrepreneurship is the Third Largest Global Economy
US Entrepreneurship and small business represent the third largest global economy. Today, small businesses with 500 or fewer employees employ more than 50% of the all employees and produce approximately one-half of the total private non-farm GDP.
If we were to compare the size of the small business economy with the rest of the world, the US entrepreneurship and small business economy would rank third in the world behind the US medium and large business economy and Japan.

Alex Mandossian and "How We See Things"

The quote is from Anais Nin:
We don't see things as they are. We see things as we are.

I grew up in Kenya, under the leadership of President Kenyatta. It was fascinating to discuss the economic transitions from President Kenyatta to former president Moi to the current President Kibaki.

A recent study released by the federal government's Small Business Administration stated that the regulatory cost per employee for small businesses with less than 20 employees is $7,647.
It can be reasonable to assume that this number is not an "under-estimate." Which makes the release of this number especially troublesome. What is the impact of regulatory costs on entrepreneurism? On new job creation? On job retention?
